Streaming Bundle Guide 2026

Do bundles actually save you money? We ran every number.

Every streaming bundle advertises a saving. That saving is always calculated one way: against the cost of buying everything in the bundle separately. That is the right comparison only if you genuinely wanted all of it.

Below we compare each major bundle's real monthly price against the current standalone prices of the services inside it. Every figure on this page is generated from our pricing data rather than typed by hand, so the sums stay honest when prices move โ€” and as you will see, one of these bundles currently costs more than subscribing directly.

The bundles, priced

Disney Bundle

Disney+ $11.99/mo
Hulu $11.99/mo
ESPN+ $12.99/mo
Total if bought separately $36.97/mo
Verdict: worth it if you watch all 3. You save $16.98 a month โ€” about $203.76 a year, or 46% off. But that only holds if every service in it earns its place. Drop one and the maths changes: see the break-even test below.

Apple TV+ $12.99/mo
Total if bought separately $12.99/mo

Also includes Apple Music, Apple Arcade, iCloud+ 50GB โ€” not counted in the maths above, since these aren't streaming video services we price. If you already pay for them, the bundle looks considerably better than the number above suggests.

Verdict: not a saving on video alone. At $19.95 a month against $12.99 for the video service by itself, this bundle costs you $6.96 more per month โ€” $83.52 a year โ€” unless you also use the non-video perks. It's a music-and-storage bundle that happens to include video, not a streaming saving.

The break-even test

Before you take any bundle, do this in ten seconds:

  1. List only the services you would actually pay for this month โ€” not the ones you might get around to.
  2. Add up their standalone prices from the table below.
  3. Compare that to the bundle price. If your number is lower, buy separately. The bundle's advertised saving is irrelevant to you.
The trap: a three-service bundle that saves 50% against all three still loses to a single subscription if you only ever watch one of them. Bundles are a discount on breadth, not on price.

Standalone prices for the maths

Apple TV+ $12.99/mo

When a bundle genuinely wins

  • You already pay for two or more of the parts. This is the only situation where the advertised saving is the saving you get.
  • The bundle includes something you buy anyway. Music, cloud storage or a games service you already subscribe to can flip a bad video deal into a good overall one.
  • You have a household, not a viewer. Breadth is worth more when several people want different things.

When to skip it

  • You're bundling to "get value" from a service you don't watch. Paying more to feel like you're saving is the most common streaming mistake.
  • You binge one show at a time. Rotating a single subscription almost always beats a bundle โ€” see our money-saving tips for the rotation method.
  • The ad-supported tier is fine by you. Bundle discounts are usually quoted against premium tiers.

Work out your own number

Thrifty Streamer tracks what you actually subscribe to and what you actually watch, then shows your real cost per show โ€” including bundle coverage, so services covered by a bundle count as $0 rather than double-charging you.
